How to reach Dresden
Arriving by Plane
Dresden Airport (DRS)
Dresden Airport is just 9 km north of the city center, making it quick and easy to reach the conference venue.
- A taxi ride takes about 15 minutes.
- If you prefer public transport, the S-Bahn line S2 runs directly from the airport terminal to Dresden-Mitte (~15 minutes), which is the closest train station to the conference venue.
Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER)
For some international travelers, flying into Berlin may be more convenient. BER Airport is about 190 km from Dresden. From there, you can reach Dresden in several ways:
- By train: Intercity (IC), Eurocity (EC), and ICE services run from the airport BER to Dresden Hauptbahnhof (main train station). The journey takes around 2–2.5 hours.
- By long-distance bus: Companies such as Flixbus connect BER with Dresden Hauptbahnhof, with travel times of about 2 hours.
From Dresden Hauptbahnhof, trams, S-Bahn, or a short taxi ride will bring you to the conference venue.
Arriving by Train
Dresden Hauptbahnhof (Main Station)
As the city’s main train station, Hauptbahnhof is served by many national and international trains. From here, you can take tram 11 toward Bühlau and get off at Kongresszentrum, just a short walk from the hotel. A taxi will get you there in about 10 minutes.
Dresden-Neustadt Station
This is another major long-distance station, especially convenient if you are traveling from Berlin or Prague. From Neustadt, take tram 11 toward Zschertnitz to Kongresszentrum (~10 minutes) or hop in a taxi for a 7-minute ride.
Dresden Mitte Station
Located closest to the venue, Dresden Mitte is just a 5–7 minute walk from the hotel. It is served by train lines S1 and S2 and different tram lines.
Arriving by Car
Dresden is well connected to Germany’s motorway network:
- From the A4 Autobahn, take the exit Dresden-Altstadt and follow the signs toward the city center.
- The hotel offers on-site parking (subject to availability, fees may apply). Additional parking garages are available nearby.
Local Public Transport
The Penck Hotel Dresden is very well connected to the city’s tram and bus network:
- Tram stop “Kongresszentrum / Haus der Presse” (lines 1, 6, and 11) is only a 2-minute walk from the hotel.
- Bus stop “Schweriner Straße” is about a 6-minute walk and offers several routes across the city.
- S-Bahn Dresden Mitte provides convenient regional train connections and is only a few minutes away on foot.

Check-in/out: The rooms are available from 3:00 p.m. on the day of arrival and until 12:00 p.m. on the day of departure.
Cancellations: Individual reservations can be cancelled free of charge up to 7 days before arrival in accordance with the hotel’s General Terms and Conditions. For later cancellations, no-shows, or early departures, 90% of the first night’s rate will be charged.
